Just a little bit about Mrs. Boswell…

Posted in Uncategorized on August 14, 2011 by aboswell

My name is Amy Boswell and I teach 6th grade Language Arts at Canton Middle School.  I am on the Air Raiders team with Mr. Bax, Mrs. Bryant and Mrs. Warren. This will be my ninth year at CMS and I love teaching here! I hope you will love school as much as I do. I thought I would tell you a little about myself so that you can get to know me better.

I was raised in Sarasota, Florida and graduated from the University of South Florida in Tampa where I played softball.  I played professional softball for two years for a team called the Georgia Pride. That is where I met my husband, Max, who was an Army Ranger. When he got out of the army we moved to western North Carolina, where I attended Western Carolina University earning a Master of Arts in Teaching.

The focus in my world is my son, Chase, who is seven years old. He is in second grade at Bethel Elementary.  He plays football, basketball and baseball. He also enjoys skateboarding and playing with his neighborhood buddies.

I like to spend my free time reading, exercising at the gym, mountain biking, playing sports with my son and vacationing at the beach!

Some of my favorite series of books are  Harry Potter, The Hunger Games and Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

I enjoy most types of music, but classic rock is probably my favorite. When we travel, I enjoy playing “Name that Tune” or “Name the Singer.”

You will find that I am very competitive in any type of competition.  During the school year, our homerooms will battle against each other for food drives, fundraisers and other things. I really like to win!!  The Air Raiders will also compete against other teams in the school to see who can read the most books.  This sends me into a frenzy!

Well, that is just a little bit about me. I am excited to learn more about you in the coming weeks. I think we will really enjoy learning together!
