My career started with a degree in International Business in 1989. For several years I worked as a wine import manager for a firm in San Francisco, CA. I soon realized a career change was needed, however, and went back to school to get my Master’s degree in Library and Information Science and my Elementary Teaching credential. I have been a school librarian for thirteen years. Before coming to Hazelwood Elementary, I was a librarian in Raleigh, NC for six years. I took a break from librarianship to raise my two girls, Emma and Sarah, until they went to school. When Sarah entered Kindergarten, I headed back to the library. I have been at Hazelwood Elementary since 2008.
My husband and I have lived in North Carolina since 1995. He grew up in Newport Beach, California while I grew up in the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. Our two children were born in Durham, NC in 2000 and 2002. We love living in Western North Carolina and taking advantage of everything it has to offer.
