Highlights

I am looking forward to a new school-year.  I hope my upcoming second-graders have had a wonderful summer and are ready to get back to school!  The beginning of a school year is so exciting and busy at the same time.  Getting the classroom ready for the first student day on August 18th will be a busy time for me.
I hope your child has spent some time reading during our summer break.  It is so important for young readers to practice reading everyday so they do not lose the progress they have made.  Please set aside some time in the coming days to visit the public library and read.  You can always revisit favorite books at home.  Either way, time with a good book is priceless!
We want our students to be life-long learners and enjoy their time in school.  My goal as a teacher is to make that learning experience fun and to be a positive influence on my students.
Never underestimate the help you give your child at home.  That one-on-one attention is priceless and is something I can not always give in a classroom full of students.  Staying positive and continuing to encourage your child will have a lasting impression!!
