Boy have I learned a lot today! The Canton and Center Pigeon Fire departments came to Meadowbrook today to speak with our boys and girls about fire safety. I listened in on their great lessons and this is what I learned:

  • Test your smoke detectors every month and change the batteries inside them every 6 months
  • Make and practice an escape plan for your home
  • Stop, Drop, and Roll! if you find yourself on fire
  • Get Out and Stay Out! if your house is on fire
  • Never play with matches or lighters!

I also learned that our local firefighters are wonderful, brave and smart people. Thanks firefighters for keeping us all safe!

Remember the lessons that they taught us boys and girls and as always,

Keep your tails waggin’

Hope you took a liking to “Sparky”. In real life “Sparky” is my son-in-law. I think you are much cuter than Sparky! Keep up the good work!

I speak for everyone at the Canton Fire Dept when I say it is a pleasure to spend the day with such a wonderful group of students and teachers. Remember all that you learned and share it with everyone. Finn, if we didn’t have Sparky we would definitely adopt you as our Fire Dog!

Be Safe!

Hello from your friends at Center Pigeon Fire Dept! We enjoyed coming to your school and teaching Fire Prevention! The questions that we want to ask are: “Have you practiced your Fire Escape Plan?” and “Does everyone in your family know where The Meeting Place is?” Finn, do you know where yours is? =)
