NC College Application Weeks began today and end Friday, October 30th, at 5:00p.

Reminder: Before submitting your admission application to any NC college/university, complete Residency Determination (linked) and enter your certification number on the application.

You may apply free to the following schools via CFNC’s Application Hub:

* For Barton, Campbell, Catawba, Davidson, Elon, Meredith, Montreat, Queens, William Peace and Warren Wilson, you will be linked away from CFNC.org to a third-party website.
 Tech Info:
– CFNC is designed to work with Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge and Safari. However, a couple of our students have experienced an issue with Safari.
– Enable Java, JavaScript and cookies.
– Turn off pop-up blockers.

If interested in a college that is not participating AND you are eligible free/reduced-price school meals, contact Dr. Allen.

We will host open Google Meets on Monday and Tuesday, October 26th and 27th, to answer questions and work together. The code will be sent later via Remind.

Our goal is for every graduating senior to apply somewhere during these two weeks, so you have options in the spring. Since we are remote, take a selfie with (or screenshot of) your submitted application and send to Dr. Allen.

Graduating Senior Families,

If you attended Haywood County’s annual Financial Aid Night via Google Meet last evening, I hope that you feel more informed about next steps and available resources. It was not recorded due to privacy, but our guest speaker and regional CFNC representative Devon McCarthy-James emailed her slides. The file is too large to upload here, so contact me for a copy.

The FAFSA opens today! This application begins the process for need-based financial aid and is required to apply for some scholarships. The four documents and links below were shared in a webinar this morning. Also, HCC’s Financial Aid Office is willing to help: 627.4756, hccaid@haywood.edu.
