8th Language Arts/Social Studies

Today we continued with our unique schedule due to the science remediation.  Students had their two blocks of (if you are in my class) reading review time and then 3rd and 4th periods. In my review classes, we looked at some literary terms and the importance of knowing not only what they mean, but also how they affect the passages.  Then we analyzed a poetry passage from the released EOG tests.  Please remind your child of the importance of using the strategies he/she has learned throughout the year.  They have been working very hard!
** Those students who want some extra practice are invited to stay Wednesday after school til 3:45 for reading remediation.

LA – Today we reviewed for the vocab quiz on Wednesday… words P-R; we also started our major review for the EOG.  Students received multiple papers that we worked on together in class, but two of those pages must be completed for HW (due on Wed).  Please look over these papers, including the ones from Friday, as this will be great extra practice for them.  Tomorrow is the Science EOG, so they will not have any additional work from me until Wednesday.
SS – Today we turned our focus toward Gettysburg with a powerpoint and viewing of a couple clips from the early portions of the movie. Students have no homework.
