Meet Your Librarian

Meet Mrs. Wantz!

Before I became a librarian, I was a classroomteacher.  I have spent most of my teaching career in Onslow County, NC, teaching 3rd grade at Richlands Elementary and 1st grade at Meadow View Elementary.  I am originally from a small town, Spruce Pine, NC.  While living in Spruce Pine, I graduated form Lees McRae College with Bachelors in Elementary Education and then moved to Jacksonville, NC (about 30 minutes north of Wilmington) because my husband, a US Marine, was stationed at Camp Lejeune.  After teaching for a few years, I decided to go back to school and I “attended” virtual online classes at Appalachian State University where I graduated with my Masters in Library Science.    My husband recently transitioned out of the US Marine Corps, after 8 years of service and is now attending WCU to obtain his Bachelors in Environmental Science! Together, we have two wonderfully rotten boys, a HUGE dog named Major, and a sweet kitty named Winifred.  This is my second year at Clyde Elementary, and I am very excited to be here again this year and see some familiar, as well as new, faces!  It is going to be a great year!!
