RE: Holiday Assistance Letter

Dear Parents/Guardians:

We realize that it seems like school just started but we are already gearing up for the Holiday season. Sometimes the season can be a financial burden on families. We are doing things differently in order to try to reach out to more families. In order to apply for assistance the parent/guardian will need go to either Long’s Chapel UMC or to Haywood Christian Ministries on the specified days. There will be NO applications turned in to your child’s guidance counselor this year. You must take proof of income and expenses when going to fill out the application. Support in previous years does not guarantee support for this year.

There are several types of help that will be available. Through the generosity of the community, Evergreen, Sheriff’s department, local churches, and local clubs/groups the children will be taken care of during this time of year.

Dates for Long’s Chapel United Methodist Church:

Wednesday Sept. 25th from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm

Thursday Sept. 26th from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Thursday October 10th from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Dates for Haywood Christian Ministry:

Monday through Friday, October 1-18 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm

If you have questions please feel free to contact your child’s school counselor.

Sincerely,

Aleasa Glance

Student Services Director

Holiday Assistance Information

October 10th, 2012

Dear Parents and Guardians:

As we draw closer to the holiday season, we often find that there are individuals and community groups eager to reach out to our school children in the spirit of giving.  Gifts of clothing and sometimes toys have been provided in past years for various students by these agencies and individuals.

If your family would like to request assistance for the holidays, please complete the paperwork which has gone home with your child and return it to your child’s teacher no later than October 24th, 2012.  Unfortunately, forms received after October 24th cannot be accepted. If your family is able to help other families this holiday season, please fill out the bottom of the form which came home with your child and send it back to school.  If your paperwork has gotten lost and you need new paperwork, please call Mrs. Peterson.

It is my hope that all of our families have a wonderful holiday season this year.  If you have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Sarah Peterson at 646-3445.
