- 10/16 – NC State [has] extended the November 1 deadline to November 15. From the University of Georgia (10/2): “For students impacted by the hurricane, we will allow an Early Action application deadline extension. Due to limitations in the Common App platform, we are unable to do across-the-board deadline extensions to targeted geographic regions. However, we will be able to effectively allow a deadline extension by permitting students to submit a Regular Decision application, then complete the deadline extension request form to reclassify it as an Early Action application. If students are applying after the Early Action deadline, they should submit the Regular Decision application via the Common App no later than October 22 11:59 p.m. After submitting their application, they will receive the “Next Steps for your UGA Application” email from us, students will see a link to a form near the top of their application status page that will allow them to submit a request to have their application updated from Regular Decision to Early Action. Students will have until October 27 at 11:59 p.m. to submit the request to switch their application to Early Action consideration. Please note that even with this extended application deadline, the materials deadline will remain October 29.”
From UNC-Chapel Hill (10/4): “In support of the students directly affected, we’re extending our early action deadline to October 31, 2024. Students who are affected by the hurricane don’t need to take any additional action in order to receive the extension…We’ll accept additional required materials, such as transcripts, school reports, and recommendation letters through December 1.”
From Clemson University (10/7): “Please reach out [apply@admission.clemson.edu] with any situations that need flexibility regarding the [Early Action] deadlines below…October 15 – Application submission and November 1 – Materials submission.”
- 10/11 – “If you are submitting your Clemson application through any of our platforms (Common App, Coalition, or Clemson app) after 11:59 p.m. on October 15, please select Regular Decision as your application plan. Within 24 hours of submitting your application, you will receive an email to set up your Clemson admissions portal. Once you’re in your portal, please submit the “Request Early Action” form by 11:59 p.m. on October 31. Completion of this form will automatically update your application plan to Early Action. Complete your Self-Reported Academic Record and submit test scores directly from the testing agency (optional) by 11:59 p.m. on November 15. From Emory University (10/16): “Many schools and communities in the southeast have experienced unprecedented weather-related disruptions this fall. If [students] need additional time, our application will remain open for three extra days to accommodate.
