Curriculum Coordinators
Each school in Haywood County has a Curriculum Coordinator/Lead teacher. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide instructional leadership to the teachers and staff. They are also responsible for developing and promoting system-wide programs and areas of instructional emphasis.
Some of their duties include but are not limited to:
- Organizing and conducting staff development activities for school personnel on an individual and group basis – including mentoring and demonstration teaching
- Planning with teachers, principals, and other school personnel
- Providing resources in time, material, and services for the purposes of strengthening the caliber of daily instruction
- Serving as a resource person to teachers for regular and supplementary instructional materials
- Integrating and coordinating the curriculum and its instructional programs
- Coordinating volunteer and tutoring program implementation
